The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday presented the certificate of return to the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, who won the 16th July gubernatorial election in Osun State. It The National Commissioner for INEC, supervising Osun, Ogun and Oyo states, Prof. Kunle Ajayi, presented the certificate to Adeleke and the deputy governor-elect, Kola Adewusi. The electoral body presented the certificate 72 hours after Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

The federal government of Nigeria has sent warning to all Nigerians especially those planning on attending  Universities by sending a list of illegal institution. National University Commission(NUC) has stated on its website that the federal government has shut down nothing less than 58 universities across Nigeria. The universities were closed for disobeying the Education (National Minimum Standards, etc.) Act CAPE3 Law of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. The federal government sent the message through the NUC secretary to all citizens, undergraduate and prospective university students.
